BAKERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that international trading influences in China are demanding forcible representations and stern measures in regard to the situation in China; and whether the British Government will adopt every possible precaution to prevent active measures being taken for any purpose except the protection of British lives?
