HC Deb 17 December 1925 vol 189 c1606
41. Mr. HAYES

asked the Home Secretary whether he will state the nature of the appointments at New Scotland Yard of Colonel Partridge, Major Vitty, and Captain Miller; their salaries, and the Votes and headings under which they are charged?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

Of the names mentioned, I recognise only the first two as belonging to the establishments connected with the Metropolitan Police. Colonel Partridge is Establishment Officer in the office of the Commissioner of Metropolitan Police, with the status of Assistant Secretary and salary on the scale £750 to £850, plus bonus. Major Vitty is Engineer in the office of the Receiver of the Metropolitan Police district, with salary on the scale. £450 to £600, plus bonus. In each case, the salary is borne on the Metropolitan Police Fund, and not on a Vote of Parliament.
