HC Deb 08 December 1925 vol 189 c229
19. Colonel DAY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any difficulty has been experienced in recruiting suitable men in the Army following the recent pay cuts affecting junior officers and men now joining the Colours?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Captain Douglas King)

No, Sir. The numbers enlisted since the lower rates have been in force are slightly in excess of the numbers for the corresponding period last year, although November shows a falling off as compared with October.
