asked the Secretary of State for War what progress had been made by the Imperial War Graves Commission in respect of the national memorial to commemorate those members of the mercantile marine who fell during the War owing to enemy action?

Captain KING

A great number of different interests have had to be consulted with regard to the best form of memorial to the in men of the mercantile marine who lost their lives in the War, but I am glad to be able to say that agreement has now been obtained and I hope that arrangements will shortly be completed which will enable my right hon. Friend to make an announcement on the subject.
