Colonel ENGLANDasked the Secretary of State for War, in view of his assurance that the proposal to discontinue the cost accounts of combatant units was to be subject to the approval of the Committee of Public Accounts, under what authority the preparation of these accounts has already been discontinued and notices of dismissal issued to the accounting staff engaged upon them; and whether, in view of the decision of the Public Accounts Committee not to give this approval until they have heard further evidence on both sides of the question, he will arrange to suspend these notices of dismissal pending the Report of the Committee?
