HC Deb 03 August 1925 vol 187 cc951-2
42. Sir G. STRICKLAND

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is prepared to use his influence to diminish the activities of the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes in competition with normal trade in the supply of luxuries as well as necessaries to His Majesty's Forces?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Sir Laming Worthington-Evans)

I have nothing to add to the answer I gave to a similar question asked by my hon. Friend on the 25th February last.

Sir G. STRICKLAND

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the building used for the trading purposes of this Institute ceases to remain the property of the War Office as soon as it is used for any other purpose than defence?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

No, Sir. If my hon. Friend can give me any information, I will look into it.
