HC Deb 03 August 1925 vol 187 cc954-5
55. Mr. PILCHER

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the occurrence within the near neighbourhood of Truro of three fatal motor accidents within 10 days, and others within the past few weeks; and whether he will expedite and increase the co-operation between his Department and the county authorities with the object of rapidly removing the blind corners which contribute to these fatalities?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Colonel Moore-Brabazon)

My attention has been drawn to these and to several other fatal motor accidents which have occurred recently. My hon. Friend is probably aware that in the Roads Improvement Bill, which is now being considered in another place, there are provisions which, if enacted, will, I trust, materially assist in the object to which he refers in the second part of His question.

Colonel DAY

Will a white line be introduced at these dangerous corners?

Lieut.-Colonel MOORE-BRABAZON

I am considering that at present. I cannot state yet.
