§ 39. Mr. TREVELYANasked the Home Secretary whether the Food Commission has yet reported on the question of the effect of the abolition of night baking; if so, what are the conclusions of the Report; and whether the Government has now decided to ratify the main provisions of the draft convention?
Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONYes, Sir. The Report has just been submitted and will be laid before Parliament as soon as possible. I would prefer not to attempt to summarise the Report in an answer to a question, and I would ask the right hon. Gentleman to wait for the Report itself. As regards the last part of the question, the International Labour Conference has not yet finally adopted a draft convention, so that this part of the question does not at present arise.
