HC Deb 08 April 1925 vol 182 cc2193-4
7. Mr. PONSONBY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he intends to publish papers with regard to affairs in Egypt covering the period since His Majesty's present Government assumed office?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

No, Sir. Publication at this stage would add but little to the knowledge already possessed by the House, and I am advised by others—and I myself have reluctantly come to the conclusion—that it would not be in the public interest. In these circumstances I trust that the hon. Gentleman will not press his request.
