HC Deb 02 April 1925 vol 182 cc1499-500
49. Mr. THOMAS SHAW

asked the Prime Minister whether the German proposals for a five-Power pact include, with regard to the eastern frontiers of Germany, a proposal for compulsory arbitration or only for arbitration unaccompanied by compulsory obligations?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Ronald McNeill)

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs asks me to say that he thinks that it would be clearly inexpedient at present to add anything on this subject to the statement which he made in this House on the 24th of March.

Mr. SHAW

Can the hon. Gentleman give any idea as to when it would be possible to make a plain statement, so that people may know what is taking place?

Mr. McNEILL

I am afraid that it is impossible for me to say that.
