Mr. MELLERasked the Minister of Pensions whether he has received a copy of a letter issued by the chairman of the Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield War Pensions Committee with regard to the existing Regulations of the Ministry of Pensions and their effect on ex-service men and their dependants; and whether he proposes to set up a Committee of Inquiry to consider the question of pensions generally?
Lieut.-Colonel STANLEYMy right hon. Friend has received a copy of the letter referred to. As regards the last part of the question, I would draw my hon. Friend's attention to the answer given by the Prime Minister in the House on the 26th ultimo, of which I am sending a copy. My right hon. Friend would add that the 'natters dealt with in the letter referred to in the question have been already, and will be further, discussed with the Central Advisory Committee of the Ministry, and that all steps practicable to deal with the points of difficulty that have arisen will be taken.
