HC Deb 01 April 1925 vol 182 c1310
45. Mr. GROVES

asked the Prime Minister whether he will allocate a day to enable the House to debate the question of the nationalisation of all the means of production and distribution, in order to determine whether this economic principle would be in the best interests of the nation?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Government cannot give time for these academic discussions. Private Members have, however, ample opportunities for bringing these Motions before the House.

Mr. GROVES

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that, owing to the helpful influence of this party and the lack of factious opposition by the Liberal party, the Government are some weeks ahead with their work, and may I therefore suggest that he would still find time for this very important subject?
