HC Deb 29 May 1924 vol 174 c587
39. Mr. AYLES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is prepared, when he is considering the removal of restrictions on old age pensions, to also consider the provision of medical assistance apart from the Poor Law?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Snowden)

I must ask my hon. Friend to await the introduction of the Government's proposals.

Mr. AYLES

When does my right hon. Friend hope to introduce his proposals?

Mr. SNOWDEN

I had hoped to be able to introduce them by Whitsuntide, hut I am afraid the pressure of other business will prevent me doing so. I expect to put them before the House immediately after the Recess.
