HC Deb 27 May 1924 vol 174 c201
70. Mr. BECKER

asked the Minister of Transport what steps he proposes to take to complete the Chertsey arterial road, and have plans been passed to construct the necessary bridge over the Thames at Mortlake?

Mr. GOSLING

The county councils of Middlesex and Surrey are co-operating with my Department in the acquisition of land for the new Chertsey Road, a portion of which, in Chiswick, has already been formed. No definite agreement has yet been reached with the local authorities concerned with regard to the construction of the remainder of the road and of the necessary bridges, but I have every confidence that work will proceed at no distant date.
