HC Deb 26 May 1924 vol 174 c11
44. Colonel Sir CHARLES YATE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has considered the letter addressed to him by the president of the European Association of Calcutta, on 5th April last, regarding the difficult conditions under which Chelsea pensioners are residing in India; and if he can state what action is being taken in the matter?

Mr. RICHARDS

I have brought the association's letter to the notice of my hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, to whom any further inquiries should be addressed.

Sir C. YATE

Can the Under-Secretary say whether he can do anything to help these military pensioners?

Mr. RICHARDS

I am afraid that I cannot add anything to my answer.
