Mr. BARNESasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the low rate of wages paid in the bread-baking industry; and, in view of the fact that many employers desire to pay better wages, but are largely prevented owing to the disorganised condition of the trade, will he consider the advisability of establishing a Trades Board for the bakery trade at the earliest possible moment?
§ Mr. SHAWIf my hon. Friend is in a position to send me specific information as to the present wages and organisation in this trade, I shall be glad to consider the matter.
