Sir Joseph Hood reported from the Committee on Group D of Private Bills: That the parties promoting the Manchester Ship Canal Bill had stated that the evidence of Thomas Monk Newell, Engineer-in-Chief of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, was essential to their case; and, it having been proved that his attendance could not be procured without the intervention of the House, he had been instructed to move, that the said Thomas Monk Newell do attend the said Committee on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the clock.

Ordered, That Thomas Monk Newell do attend the Committee on Group D of Private Bills on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the clock.
