HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 cc1895-6
23. Mr. FRANKLIN

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs under what circumstances Article 112 of the Treaty of Sèvres was not reproduced in Article 18 of the Treaty of Lausanne; and whether he will explain why the said Article in the Treaty of Lausanne did not conform textually with Article 112 of the Treaty of Sèvres?

The PRIME MINISTER

Article 112, in common with other provisions of the Treaty of Sèvres, was not reproduced in the Treaty of Lausanne because the circumstances in which the two Treaties were negotiated were entirely different, but the matter is not one which can conveniently be dealt with by way of question and answer.
