HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 cc1906-7
47. Sir K. WOOD

asked the Prime Minister whether he can now make any further statement concerning the Government's attitude to the Rent Restrictions Bill which has been committed to Standing Committee A?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Mr. Arthur Greenwood)

My right hon. Friend has nothing to add to the statement which was made as to the attitude of the Government on the Second Reading of the Bill.

Sir K. WOOD

Do the Government propose to assist this Measure by suggesting Amendments in Committee that will improve the Bill?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Is it not impossible for us to begin the discussion of this Measure without knowing whether the Government do or do not intend to introduce a Bill?

Sir K. WOOD

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say whether the Minister of Health or the Attorney-General propose to attend the Committee and assist the Bill?

Mr. GREENWOOD

No, Sir.
