HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 c1911
62. Captain TERRELL

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that numbers of candidates at the recent election were unable to place their views before the electorate owing to organised interruption; and whether he will find time to introduce legislation to deal with this matter before going to the country?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. A. Henderson)

I have been asked to reply. I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer which was given to the hon. Member for North Battersea (Mr. Hogbin) on the 20th February last.

Captain TERRELL

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that my question is totally different from the one asked by the hon. Member for North Battersea (Mr. Hogbin) and will he answer the last part of my question as to whether he will find time to introduce legislation to deal with this matter before going to the country.

Mr. HENDERSON

We do not contemplate at present introducing legislation.

Captain TERRELL

If a private. Bill is introduced will the Government find time for it?

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Member is now asking hypothetical questions.
