§ 88. Major EDMONDSONasked the Minister of Agriculture if, in view of the high postal rates, he is prepared to inquire into the possibility of greater facilities being given for the transport of agricultural produce by post?
§ The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Hartshorn)I have been asked to reply to this question. While I sympathise with 1925 the object which the hon. and gallant Member has in view, I fear that no useful purpose would be served by an inquiry such as he suggests. Any preferential treatment given to agricultural produce would elicit claims for similar treatment from other industries to which cheap transport is no less important; and I know of no ground on which equality of treatment could be refused.
