HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 cc1917-8
75. Mr. JOHNSTON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the investigation into the position of the Masai tribes in Kenya Colony, promised by the Secretary of State for the Colonies on the 9th July last, has yet been held; whether any Report has yet been received; whether the fine of 10,000 head of cattle imposed last year has been recovered; and, if so, how these cattle have been disposed of by the Kenya Government?

Mr. THOMAS

I regret that the Report has not yet been received. I am telegraphing to the Governor asking that it may be sent at once, and I am at the same time inquiring as to the exact position with regard to the recovery of the fine of cattle, including the method in which the cattle received have been disposed of.
