HC Deb 24 June 1924 vol 175 cc239-40
48. Mr. J. HARRIS

asked the Prime Minister whether he is yet in a position to state the policy of the Government with regard to the optional clause upon compulsory arbitration of the protocol of the permanent court of international justice?

Mr. CLYNES

The decision of His Majesty's Government on this important matter may have far-reaching consequences and time must be allowed them to consider it in all its aspects. It is also necessary to consult with the Dominions. When my right hon. Friend is in a position to do so, he will make a statement to the House.
