HC Deb 24 June 1924 vol 175 cc227-8
31. Mr. BAKER

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is in a position to announce the result of his examination of the question of compelling motorists to insure against accidents; and whether he is prepared to introduce legislation?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Gosling)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave him on the same subject on the 20th May. The practical and administrative difficulties are very considerable, and, in any case, legislation would not be possible at present.
