Mr. THURTLEasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether, with regard to the committee appointed by the Government of India for the purpose of making recommendations for economy in military expenditure, and which contains no non-official members, he will advise the appointment of such a non-official expert as Sir P. S. Sivaswamy Tyer or Sir Purushottamdas Thakurdas?
§ Mr. RICHARDSI have not heard of the committee to which my hon. Friend refers, but if such a committee is being set up, I have no doubt the Government of India will exercise a wise discretion in the selection of expert members.
