HC Deb 19 June 1924 vol 174 c2311
41. Sir R. LYNN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Government intend to proceed this Session with the Bill for the removal of the thrift barrier in the case of old age pensioners?

Mr. SNOWDEN

It is the intention of the Government to proceed this Session with a Bill dealing with this question, and I would ask the hon. Member to await the Lord Privy Seal's statement on business at the end of questions.

Sir F. HALL

Have the Government gone into the matter and estimated what it is going to cost, and can the right hon. Gentleman give the House the figures?

Mr. SNOWDEN

The hon. and gallant Member had better wait and see.
