HC Deb 19 June 1924 vol 174 cc2324-5
74. Mr. T. THOMSON

asked the Minister of Transport how soon the Government propose to take over all or any of the main roads of the country; and, if this is done on varying dates, will they accept responsibility for the cost of maintenance of all from the same date?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Gosling)

The Government do not propose to take over any of the main roads of the country. As to the Government's actual proposals, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on the 17th June to the hon. Member for the Epping Division, of which I am sending him a copy.
