HC Deb 18 June 1924 vol 174 c2119
45. Mr. AYLES

asked the Prime Minister if he is yet in a position to state whether any agreement has been come to with regard to the constitution of the Committee of Inquiry into the question of Home Rule for Scotland, Wales and England, the terms of reference, and the date when they will commence their work?

The PRIME MINISTER

His Majesty's Government have been unable to secure the co-operation of all parties in setting up a Committee somewhat on the model of the late Speaker's Committee which inquired into this subject with some others. In view of the undertakings it has on hand already, the Government regret that it is impossible for them at the moment to pursue the matter further this Session.
