HC Deb 17 June 1924 vol 174 cc1946-7
34. Lieut. - Colonel HOWARD - BURY

asked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to make a statement with regard to the negotiations that are taking place in London with representatives of the Soviet Government?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Ponsonby)

I would refer the hon. and gallant Mem ber to the second part of the reply which my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister gave to the hon. Member for Moseley (Mr. Hannon) on the 16th June.

Lieut.-Colonel HOWARD-BURY

Can the hon. Gentleman publish any agreements that have been reached, or is it the case that no agreements have been reached?

Mr. PONSONBY

The negotiations are still being conducted in such a way as preclude any information being given of agreements reached.

Lieut.-Colonel HOWARD-BURY

Have any agreements been reached?

Mr. PONSONBY

The hon. and gallant Member had better wait until the Prime Minister makes his statement.
