§ The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Gosling)I regret that it is not possible for me to state when this improvement can be begun. The work calls for the combined action of a number of local authorities and tramway undertakings, and the widenings present great difficulty owing to the very limited space between buildings. I am prepared to give substantial assistance towards the project and am doing all in my power to advance the negotiations.
