HC Deb 03 June 1924 vol 174 cc1068-9
55. Mr. HEALY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the peaceful character of the country for the past two years, he still intends introducing a Supplementary Estimate for the Special Constabulary in Northern Ireland?

Mr. SNOWDEN

No decision has yet been reached on the question of a Grant-in-Aid of Special Constabulary in Northern Ireland in the current year.

Mr. MOLES

Can the right hon. Gentleman tell the House whether it is not a fact that the reason why peace is being maintained is due to the existence of this force?

Mr. SNOWDEN

I am not aware of that.
