HC Deb 02 June 1924 vol 174 c889
Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Committee to consider the case of the police strikers, dismissed the farce in 1919, has been arranged for; if so, who are its members to be: and what are the Terms of Reference?

Mr. HENDERSON

The Government have decided to adopt the plan which I indicated tentatively in the course of the Debate in this House on the 15th May, and to appoint a Committee. The Terms of Reference are: "To consider the claims of the men dismissed from the Police and Prison Services on account of the Strike of 1919, and to report thereon." The Chairman of the Committee will be Sir William Mackenzie, K.B.E., K.C., and the other members are, Sir Hugh Fraser, Mr E. L. Poulton, Mr. Thomes Richards, and Sir Thomas Royden.
