Mr. DAVIESClubs where intoxicating liquor is supplied have to register in London at the police courts. The total number of such clubs registered in the Metropolitan police district is 1,554, but it is not possible to say how many of them could be described as workmen's clubs. The hours during which liquor may be supplied are, within the limits of the Licensing Act, 1921, fixed by the Club Rules, and are not necessarily the same as the permitted hours fixed by Justices for licensed premises.
