HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2229
36. Lieut.-Colonel HOWARD - BURY

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is prepared to grant representation on the Burnham Committee to the National Association of Schoolmasters, who represent one-sixth of the men teachers of the elementary schools?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Trevelyan)

I am afraid I can add nothing to the reply I gave on the 10th July to the hon. Member for Sunderland (Mr. Luke Thompson), a copy of which I am sending to the hon. and gallant Member.

Lieut.-Colonel HOWARD-BURY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say why it is proposed to give no representations to over 6,000 teachers on the Burnham Committee?

Mr. TREVELYAN

I answered that point in the reply to which I referred the hon. Gentleman.
