HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2217
10 and 11. Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE

asked the Minister of Pensions (1) how many Army pensioners are in receipt of disability pensions; and how many are in receipt of combined disability and service pensions awarded since August, 1914;

(2) how many Army pensioners are in receipt of disability pensions, and how many are in receipt of combined disability and service pensions awarded previous to August, 1914?

Mr. ROBERTS

The total number of men who served in the Army (and Air Force) during the late War, who are now in receipt of pensions or allowances from my Department, is slightly over 600,000. Of these, about 27,000 men are in receipt of additions to their disability pensions or allowances in respect of service prior to the late War, but it is not possible to say in how many cases an award had been made before August, 1914.
