HC Deb 30 July 1924 vol 176 cc2035-6
9. Mr. J. HARRIS

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what ships under the Admiralty are now stationed in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf with the object of dealing with the slave traffic?

Mr. AMMON

Two sloops are stationed in the Red Sea and two sloops and one special service vessel in the Persian Gulf. The prevention of slave traffic by sea is part of their normal duty. One of the Red Sea sloops is now temporarily at Malta for refit.
