HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 cc1083-4

"to confirm a Provisional Order under the Private Legislation Procedure (Scotland) Act, 1899, relating to the London, Midland, and Scottish Railway (Dock Charges, Scotland)," presented by Mr. WILLIAM ADAMSON; and ordered (under Section 7 of the Act), to be considered To-morrow.

Mr. W. THORNE

Is this another case of this particular railway company seeking powers, and refusing to put them into operation when they have been given the powers?

Mr. SPEAKER

There can be no discussion at this stage.

Mr. THORNE

I am only asking a question.

Mr. SPEAKER

It cannot now be asked.

Mr. THORNE

Then I object to the Bill.

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Member cannot object to the presentation of a Bill.

Mr. THORNE

Then what can I do to get a grievance rectified?

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Member can consult the Secretary for Scotland.
