HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 c1124
69. Sir CHARLES STARMER

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that at Shaw End, Lealholm, in the North Riding of Yorkshire, there is only one delivery of letters every other day; and, as this causes great delay in correspondence, whether he will establish a daily delivery of letters in this village?

Mr. HARTSHORN

The postal arrangements at Shaw End ware reviewed about a year ago, when it was found that the number of letters which would benefit by the provision of a daily delivery was insufficient to justify the additional expense involved. I am having fresh returns taken, and I will consider whether they warrant an extension of service.
