asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he will state the areas in each county of Scotland which will be entitled to the subsidy of £12 10s. under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill, either as parishes under Section 8 (2) (a) or as areas within the Highlands and Islands under Section 8 (2) (b)?

33. Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the Secretary for Scotland if he is aware that the gross valuation of the Parish of Tibbermore is £13,081, and the valuation of agricultural lands in the parish £8,052, the population of the parish 975 persons, and the area 6,148 acres; and on what grounds, therefore, is to be excluded from participating in the higher grant of £12 10s. to be given to agricultural parishes under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill?

Mr. ADAMSON

I am informed that the figures quoted in the Noble Lady's question are correct and that the landward part of the Parish of Tibbermore will not be excluded for the purpose of participation in the higher subsidy of £12 10s. I regret that, owing to a clerical error, I misinformed the Noble Lady on this point in the reply which I gave to her on the 14th July.
