HC Deb 21 July 1924 vol 176 cc878-9

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the value to British imports of the Preference granted by the various overseas parts of the Empire in 1923; what were the special lines of British exports so benefited; and, in the case of the six chief ones, to what extent in values of pounds sterling?

With reference to the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 4th April, by my hon. Friend, the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, to the hon. Member for South Croydon. I regret that, owing to the differences in the details of the Dominion and Colonial tariffs, the particulars referred to in the latter part of the question could only be prepared with a. considerable expenditure of time.
