§ 70. Lieut. - Commander FLETCHERasked the Minister of Health if he has received any communications from boards 215 of guardians urging the desirability of amending Section 1 (1) of the Poor Law Act, 1899, by substituting 21 years for 18 years as the limit of age of vesting of parental powers in the guardians where the guardians consider that such extension of age is desirable in the interests of the person with respect to whom a resolution of vesting is passed; and, if such communications have been received, is it proposed to take any action in the direction indicated?
Mr. GREENWOODYes, Sir, my right hon. Friend has received some communications to this effect, but, as has been said in reply to previous questions, he is not aware of any sufficient ground for introducing legislation for this purpose.
