§ Major ATTLEEI presume that my Noble Friend intends to refer to barrack wardens, and not to barrack labourers. The reason for the rule in question is that it is desired that the men appointed shall not have left the Army too long before, so as to be cut of touch with current Service customs and regulations. Notwithstanding the rule referred to, the number of candidates is out of all proportion to that of the vacancies.
