§ 60. Mr. BECKER
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he can give any information to the House regarding our military situation in Iraq; and has any evacuation yet taken place during the last 12 months?

Mr. THOMAS
It would be contrary to public policy to give particulars of the Iraq garrison.

§ Mr. BECKER
Does that mean that nothing is happening?

Mr. THOMAS
No, it means that we ought not to put questions and expect answers to questions such as this.

§ Mr. BECKER
Do the Government intend to stay in Iraq indefinitely?
