HC Deb 08 July 1924 vol 175 cc1926-7
2. Mr. WILBERFORCE ALLEN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, seeing that a number of claims against the German Government in respect of businesses sequestrated by that Government during the war have not yet been adjudicated upon by the mixed arbitral tribunal, and that this is involving hardship to applicants, he will take steps to have the proceedings before that tribunal expedited?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Webb)

As I stated on 1st July, in a reply (of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy) to a question by the hon. Member for Harborough (Mr. Black), agreement has been reached with the German Government for the establishment of a Third Division of the Anglo-German Tribunal as soon as the necessary formalities have been complied with. It is hoped that this will considerably expedite the settlement of cases by the Tribunal.
