HC Deb 07 July 1924 vol 175 c1747
16. Mr. STRANGER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can now give any information as to the present situation of Mrs. Evans, who was last reported as with her servants defending themselves against attack by irregulars at her hacienda in Mexico on 3rd June: and whether the assistance promised by the Mexican Ministry of War has been sent to her relief?

51. Sir WILLIAM DAVISON

asked the Prime Minister whether he has now obtained any information from Mexico as to the safety of Mrs. Evans?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. J. Ramsay MacDonald)

I have just received information by telegraph that Mrs. Evans is in no immediate danger, and the only trouble now is apparently that she is being prevented from harvesting her crops. This is being dealt with.
