HC Deb 07 July 1924 vol 175 cc1760-1
29. Sir HARRY BRITTAIN

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been called to a statement by the British Ambassador at Washington to the effect that he would welcome a Canadian Commissioner at Washington; and what steps His Majesty's Government propose to take with regard to this matter?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have seen the report in the "Times" of the 5th July, to which the hon. Member no doubt refers. The Canadian Government have had under consideration the question of the appointment of a Canadian Minister at Washington, and His Majesty's Government await an expression of their wishes.
