HC Deb 03 July 1924 vol 175 cc1505-6
60. Viscount CURZON

asked the Secretary for Scotland what was the duration of the cruise which he recently undertook to the Hebrides in the fishery protection cruiser "Minna"; whether during that period the ship was withdrawn from her proper duty; and what was the cost of the cruise to the States?

Mr. JAMES STEWART (Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Health, Scotland)

The duration of the tour of inspection which my right hon. Friend undertook in the "Minna" was five days. During that period the vessel was not withdrawn from her police duty on her ordinary beat. The cost, apart from the ordinary running expenses, was about £25, including the expenses of the officials who assisted him.

Mr. WESTWOOD

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that the Noble Lord has paid more than that in five weeks in fines for exceeding the speed limit?
