HC Deb 03 July 1924 vol 175 cc1506-7
Mr. F. G. PENNY

(by Private Notice) asked the Minister of Labour whether he has yet appointed the Court of Inquiry into the building trade dispute, and, is so, when the inquiry will begin?

Mr. SHAW

I am glad to be in a position to state that Lord Buckmaster has consented to be chairman of the court and that Mr. F. A. Hargreaves, chairman of the Cotton Spinners' and Manu- facturers' Association, and Mr. Arthur Pugh, General Secretary of the British Iron, Steel and Kindred Trades' Association, have agreed to be members. The Court will meet at 11 o'clock to-morrow at the Royal Courts of Justice to discuss procedure, and I hope that, with the assistance of the parties, it will be possible to proceed at once with the inquiry.
