HC Deb 02 July 1924 vol 175 c1304
17. Mr. SAVERY

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the coming reduction in the pay of naval officers, such an addition may be made to their marriage allowance as will bring their remuneration more into line with that of officers in the Army and Air Force?

Mr. HODGES

In considering the question of a married allowance for naval officers, regard must naturally be paid to the remuneration of officers of the other Services. This question is not, however, in any way connected with the automatic reduction in pay which came into force on the 1st July.
