HC Deb 28 February 1924 vol 170 cc674-5
59. Mr. EMLYN-JONES

asked the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce during the Session a Bill providing for the rating and taxation of land values?

Mr. CLYNES

I am not at present in a position to make any statement on this matter.

Mr. EMLYN-JONES

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that in many cases land rated on its agricultural value is being sold at thousands of pounds an acre, and does he not consider that that land should bear its fair share of taxation?

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Member had better put that question on the Paper.
